Assen

Report on the Dutch Moto Classic from 01-03.07.2022 in Assen

With three riders in two classes we took part in the Dutch Moto Classic in Assen on the TT Circuit. Rolf and Josef (Ducati 900 SS i.e. and Aprilia RRV 450) started in the Top Twins. Walter started with his MV Agusta F3 in the Regularity.

Due to the long journey and the expensive fuel prices, the paddock was thinner than in previous years. Also the weather in Assen is not always the best. Nevertheless, our riders had a good start to the weekend and were able to finish 10th (Josef) and 12th (Rolf) in the Top Twins class in a field of 19 riders. In the Regularity class, Walter reached 13th place after qualifying.

As has been the case all season, both Regularity races took place on Saturday. Here, Walter was able to conquer 11th place in the regularity race on Saturday morning. He set his reference time at 2:24.359. Although the aim of the regularity races is to set this reference time consistently over as many laps as possible, Walter was not entirely unhappy with this, as he was able to beat his reference time by almost four seconds in the course of the race. In the second race, he was not able to confirm this time, but still achieved 12th place.

The first race of the Twins also took place on Saturday evening. Here, Josef and Rolf finished 10th and 12th, confirming the result from the qualifying sessions. The second race was on Sunday and, as in previous years, the rain started on Sunday morning. Josef and Rolf quickly changed to rain tyres. After a cautious start to the race, the two drove themselves into a frenzy and repeatedly overtook each other. Rolf finished the race in a strong 5th place and Josef in an equally strong 6th place.

In addition to the great placings achieved by our riders, another highlight of the weekend was the visit of Honda test rider Stefan Bradl to our pit. As a mentor of the Honda Talent Challenge, which is part of the Moto Trophy, the former MotoGP rider paid a visit to the young riders.

Now it's time to prepare man and machine for the race at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in three weeks' time.

Motorsport greetings from the
