Since Stein-Dinse GmbH sells batteries and rechargeable batteries or such devices that contain batteries and rechargeable batteries, we are required by the battery law to inform you of the following:

Batteries and rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of in household waste, but you are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and are recycled. You can either return the batteries to us after use or return them free of charge in the immediate vicinity (e.g. in stores or municipal collection points). Batteries or rechargeable batteries that contain harmful substances are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out garbage can. In the immediate vicinity of this garbage can symbol is the chemical name of the pollutant with the following meaning:

Pb: battery contains lead, Cd: Battery contains cadmium, Hg: Battery contains mercury.

According to BattG § 10, each seller of Kfz. According to BattG § 10, every seller of automotive starter batteries is legally obligated to charge a deposit of 7.50 € if no old battery of the same type is returned in return. Together with your battery you will receive a battery deposit voucher worth 7,50 €. Please return your old battery together with the deposit voucher to us and you will be refunded the amount. Since used batteries are dangerous goods, they may not be shipped. If it is not possible to drop off your old battery because of the distance, the regional recycling centers (addresses can be found in the yellow pages or on the environmental phone of your district) will accept your old battery. Please have this stamped on the deposit voucher. As soon as you send us the stamped deposit voucher, we can refund the amount.

Note on shipping battery acid

As of 01.02.2021, the recast EU Regulation 2019/1148 will come into force. This means that we are no longer allowed to sell battery acid to end users. This affects both batteries with acid packs, which are supplied separately, as well as individually supplied acid and acid packs. Consequently, as of 01.02.2021, we will only supply battery acid to commercial customers in the motorcycle/automotive industry and must also document their VAT identification number.

For documentation according to the EU regulation on sales to professional customers we need a completed declaration. You can find the necessary form here: Proof of battery disposal. You can send it to us before the purchase or we request it mandatory to complete the sale. The declaration is then valid for 12 months and we must keep it for 18 months.
