Helite Touring Airbag Jacket Black XL

The Touring 2.0 jacket is the optimal clothing for safety-conscious touring riders. Highly abrasion-resistant Cordura in combination with a Humax climate membrane ensure waterproofness and windproofness with simultaneous breathability. At the same time, well thought-out components such as ventilation zippers, numerous pockets, soft collar and a removable thermal lining ensure increased wearing comfort. The fit can be individually adjusted by a width adjustment on the upper and lower arm as well as by double waist straps. The attached reflective stripes also provide more visibility in dark weather.

The Touring 2.0 jacket uses the Helite TURTLE airbag system. In this design, the high-quality SAS-TEC Level 2 back protector is attached like a turtle shell over the airbag. Thus, in addition to the protection provided by the airbag itself, point loads are distributed and absorbed over the entire airbag in the back area. The protection is therefore many times higher than with a standard airbag. In addition, the jacket has KNOX protectors on the shoulders and elbows, which can be optionally removed.

The 17-28 liters of protection volume (depending on size) provide protection for the neck, spine, chest, pelvis, tailbone, head, collarbone and internal organs. Release is via a ripcord that is permanently attached to the vehicle and clipped to the jacket during mounting and dismounting. Accidental deployment by forgetting to release the ripcord when dismounting from the vehicle is very unlikely, as a force of 300Nm (30Kg) is required to deploy the airbag.

By replacing the CO2 cartridge, the jacket is immediately ready for use again. When triggered, the system has the optimum pressure after 80-100 milliseconds (depending on size) to provide full protection. This time period has been determined based on years of Helite experience and numerous calculations and tests to provide the optimal pressure to protect the body at the exact moment of impact. Even during the release process, when the full pressure has not yet been reached, important parts of the body are protected.

Notes on the textile labeling regulation:
The outer material (without airbag) is composed of the following textiles: 75% polyamide, 24% polyester, 1% spandex. The inner material is composed of: 50% polyester, 49% polyamide, 1% spandex.
