This filter replaces the original airfilters of the models 996 R/998 BIP/S/R. Remove the airbox filter and the mountings in the air ducts. These two parts airfilter are mounted against both sides of the airbox. Then you screw the new MWR filters against the airbox. On this model the fuel tank acts as the air box lid and makes sure that the filters do not move. It is highly recommended that you have the bike set up on a dyno afterwards to compensate for improved air flow. Only clean the MWR filter with MWR cleaner and then only use MWR Airfilteroil to re-oil your filter. Caution: clean and pre-oil once a year regardless of mileage.
