Why do you need an anti-hopping clutch?
Many people think that you only need such a special clutch when you are on the race track. Sure, that's where the anti-hopping clutches come from ... but also on the road this clutch can be important.
When the road surface is slippery, when braking hard before a corner and/or shifting down quickly at the same time, the engine brake puts a lot of force on the rear wheel. This can cause the rear wheel to lock up. Everyone will have experienced how the motorbike wants to break away when the rear wheel locks while riding. In curves, falls are usually unavoidable!
To prevent this dangerous locking, jumping and stamping of the rear wheel, anti-hopping clutches have ingenious mechanisms built in. Specially arranged rollers allow the rear wheel to run freely even if the engine brake would normally block it. Bucking and stamping is thus automatically avoided and the danger of falling is averted.
We have clutches from various manufacturers in our range. We would particularly like to recommend the anti-hopping clutch from "duc or die". Very interesting in terms of price and technically up to date, anyone can get the extra safety without any further modifications to the motorbike.
Anti-hopping clutches - the extra safety for ambitious bikers.
