Helite Vented Airback Summer Jacket Black/Grey 4XL

The Vented 2.0 summer jacket for motorcyclists is the perfect companion for really hot days. Large mesh inserts ensure optimum ventilation. Should it rain or the wind become too unpleasant, the separate inner jacket ensures wind and waterproofness. The outer material is made of highly abrasion-resistant Cordura. The shoulder and elbow areas are reinforced with leather for even better protection. Stretch inserts at the hips ensure an optimal fit, 3M Scotchlite applications for optimal visibility. The short cut of the jacket makes it a true unisex model, making it perfect for female bikers and male bikers alike.

The built-in airbag system has 17-28 litres of protective volume (depending on size). These are evenly distributed around the entire upper body and thus protect the neck, spine, rib cage, pelvis, coccyx, head, collarbone and internal organs. In addition to the immense impact protection, the airbag stabilises the entire upper body against twisting. Like all Helite jackets with a built-in airbag, the jacket has the innovative Turtle system. Here, a SAS-TEC Level 2 back protector lies over the airbag like a turtle shell when deployed. In addition, the jacket has protectors on the shoulders and elbows that can be removed as an option.

The release is done via a ripcord that is firmly connected to the vehicle and is plugged into the jacket when climbing on. Unintentional deployment by forgetting to release the rip cord when dismounting from the vehicle is very unlikely, as a force of 300Nm is required to activate the airbag.
By replacing the CO2 cartridge, the jacket is immediately ready for use again.

When triggered, the system has the optimum pressure after 80-100 milliseconds (depending on the size) to develop the full protective effect. This time span has been determined by Helite`s years of experience and numerous calculations and tests in order to provide the optimum pressure to protect the body at the exact moment of impact. Important parts of the body are already protected during the release process, when the full pressure has not yet been reached.
