The matching protective cap for the stahlbus oil drain valve, which protects it against external contamination. It is also a second safeguard against leaking oil. Unintentional loss is prevented by the patented loss protection. This consists of a chain and a spring clip (made of stainless steel) that is attached to the valve. The spring clip can be slipped over the valve afterwards so that it can be inserted with a socket and torque wrench.
The loss protection is only useful for the next generation of oil drain valves, as these have a groove in the key surface into which the spring clip engages. The only requirement is that the associated oil drain valve is from the new generation.
